A Proclamation by the Most

Honorable Mayor of Marietta

Be it known that in the year of 1812 the collection of certain villages lying along the shores of the Susquehanna River in the County of Lancaster, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania were duly incorporated as a Borough called Marietta of the County of Lancaster in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and;

That in the year 2012 will be celebrated the 200th year of that incorporation, I do call forth and summon all residents, societies, associations, clubs, organizations and businesses, every man, woman and child of Marietta thereby to volunteer of their time and of their treasure to celebrate this momentous occasion, and;

I call upon the Board of Councilmen of the Borough of Marietta to ratify this Proclamation so as to begin the preparation for and the celebration of this incorporation of our wondrous Borough on this 8th day of April 2008.
